“Simply awesome!” says a hard-to-please client.

I am a picky person especially when coming down to long-term commitment. Buying the first home is not as easy as many would think when the market condition is bad. Although there are many good deals price-wise, there are many more unexpected difficulties on the other hand, i.e., meeting contract deadline, getting a loan, coordinating with the selling side, etc. I am extremely pleased and grateful that I have Marilou represent me as a buyer agent.

As how the other stories start, we began with the home search process. Marilou spent many hours searching suitable homes for me, as well as many weekends tirelessly on the road to show me the properties. Her rich resource/experience and insight to the housing market offered the guidance not only for my residential needs but also investment strategies.

After I found my dream home, the more ‘unexpected’ tiresome process started — reach an contract and close the transaction on time. This can be more difficult if you are facing a hysterical and drama-oriented listing agent. Marilou stood up for me and protected me from all the noises and ridicule, while focusing on getting the deal done. Her prompt communication and decisive action made the process appear easier to me. At one point when the deal came close on the verge of falling apart, Marilou kept me thinking positive and her optimistic personality lightened my mind.

Finally I have closed the dream home last month after a three-month bumpy ride. Now when I look back, there are many many thankful moments. But there is one merit of Marilou that impresses me the most. She always puts my interest in front of hers. She thinks for me in my shoes and solves the problem for my best outcome. That, I have to say, is not just a rare-find among the real estate agents, but is a rare-find nowadays within the professional service industry at large. “Simply awesome!”, that’s what I would call it.

It was late October of 2009 when I ran across Marilou Young’s contact information through my internet searches for condos in Atlanta. I was a little skeptical at first as prior to Marilou, I had another realtor who seemed to be focused more on what he wanted me to have than what I needed and it seemed he prided himself in doing so with the least amount of effort. Marilou on the other hand, came to the table ready to show me a wide variety of options that were available. Right away I knew Marilou was there searching for properties that fit my needs and financial resources. She listened to what I was interested in and responded with a multitude of residences to consider. The first set of listings she offered up was mind bogglingly copious, but with her help we were able to work through the listing and arrive a reasonable number for consideration. And although there were so many at first, it helped me grasp what was actually on the market and that allowed me to make a more informed decision on my ultimate purchase. Marilou was tireless in showing me properties and, more importantly, she worked around my busy schedule. And I found I was able to rely on Marilou’s experience. At one point when I had finally decided on between five different floor plans, Marilou and I worked through the plusses and minuses of each. To my amazement Marilou did not advise me to make an offer on the most expensive floor plans. Instead understanding my needs, she suggested I go with the floor plan that I made perfect sense for my personal needs. One final thing that I must say is that upon moving in I encountered difficulty having some of my utilities hooked up. Marilou once again came through and helped me get the matter resolved.
